My name is Sarah, and I am a Professional Art Therapist and Registered Counselling Therapist (Candidate) (RCT-C). I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, with my dog and two cats, and you can often find me curled up with a good book, savouring great food, or combing the beach for sea glass.
My journey into art therapy began on the other side of the process—as a client—where I experienced firsthand the power of creativity in healing and self-discovery. This transformation inspired me to help others navigate their own paths through art.
I understand the importance of identity, intersectionality, and lived experience in therapeutic work. My practice is grounded in inclusivity, self-exploration, and the belief that creativity is for everyone, no matter their background or abilities.
I offer a compassionate, anti-oppressive, and somatic-based approach, incorporating parts work (IFS) and feminist principles to meet you where you are in ways that feel meaningful and effective. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, identity, trauma, grief, and more.
